18/12/2007
British actress Helena Bonham Carter and her long-term partner Tim Burton have welcomed a new addition to their family.
Helena gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday, December 15th at a hospital in London and both mother and baby are said to be doing well.
A spokeswoman for 41-year-old told People magazine that the couple are thrilled to have a second child.
Karon Maskill told the US publication: "They are absolutely delighted they have a daughter. It's a lovely Christmas present for the family."
No details of the little one's weight or name were announced. She joins older brother Billy, four.
Before the birth, Helena told the magazine that her unborn tot may have become fed up with the sound of her singing, as she had to practice for her role in her director beau's new film Sweeny Todd.
"Maybe the baby's going to come out with his hands on his ears!"
Helena and Tim have been in a relationship for six years.
