Engagement for High School Musical stars?

Zac Efron has presented his girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens with a diamond ring, prompting speculation that the couple are engaged.

The 20-year-old High School Musical star is said to have asked designer Paloma Picasso to make the heart-shaped ring.

According to In Touch Weekly, Zac gave the sparkler to Vanessa to prove how committed he is to their relationship.

The magazine quotes a friend of the couple as saying: "It's adorable and age-appropriate for Vanessa. It's from him, so she loves it."

Zac, 20, has been dating co-star Vanessa for several months but only admitted that they were an item last October.

The pair have also starred together in High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3.
