Mexico emerging as new honeymoon hotspot

When it comes to planning the ideal honeymoon, Mexico is increasing becoming popular as a "romantic destination for the UK luxury market", according to Luxury Travel magazine.

Editor Alyson Cook said that as a result of mass investment in recent years, Mexico city has a range of hip hotels such as Los Cabos and Baja California and Las Alamandas on the central Pacific coast, which is popular with A-list celebrities.

"For those who are looking into the adventure market which is a growing part of the luxury travel experience, people want adventure and once in a lifetime experiences, so they will go to 'newer' destinations like Oaxaca, Queretaro and Chiapas," she advised.

These up and coming areas appeal to the younger market who want something a little different. They offer newlyweds the chance to be more adventurous with walks in the jungle, communing with the animals, and the opportunity to climb the cultural pyramids of the region.
