Designer unveils football shirt wedding dress
01/10/2008
A Newcastle United supporter protested against the recent departure of manager Kevin Keegan by creating a wedding dress out of the team's football shirts, the BBC reports.
Fashion designer Angy Morton is set to make a style statement by featuring the unique football club-inspired wedding dress in a Cumbria fashion show next month.
"Newcastle United fans have a real love-hate relationship with their team at the moment. So I thought tearing up the shirts and turning them into a wedding dress was a good way to express how we feel," the designer told the BBC.
"Many fans are finding it difficult to wear their shirts with pride with the way things are going at the moment, but ultimately there's no escape because they are really married to football and the team."
The team are currently second from the bottom of the Premier League, following Keegan's departure last month.
