Kevin Jonas engaged to girlfriend

The eldest of the Jonas Brothers trio, Kevin, and his girlfriend Danielle Deleasa have got engaged.

People magazine quoted Kevin as describing his girlfriend's reaction to the proposal as "yes, yes, yes like 500 times super fast in a row".

A spokeswoman for the Jonas Brothers confirmed the engagement. The 21-year-old is a member of the pop band, along with his brothers Joe and Nick.

Kevin reportedly showed up at Danielle's door, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. He is also believed to have presented her with a cushion-cut diamond ring.

The young couple, who met two years ago while holidaying with their families in the Bahamas, are yet to set a date for the wedding.

Kevin's parents said in a statement that they were "filled with joy" at their son's engagement to Danielle.

Besides having three albums to his name with the Jonas Brothers, Kevin has also dabbled in acting. The brothers starred in a film called Camp Rock where they play members of a music band.
