Baby girl joy for EastEnders' Steve

EastEnders star Steve McFadden has become a father again after his partner Rachel Sidwell gave birth to a baby girl.

According to the Daily Star, the baby was born by Caesarean section at London's Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and weighed 6lb 3oz.

Both mother and daughter are said to be doing well. The couple are yet to think of a name for the newborn.

The soap star and Rachel have been dating since last year.

The new arrival is the fourth child for the 50-year-old actor, who has a son, Matthew, and two daughters, Mollie and Teona, from his former relationships.

Steve, who has played Phil Mitchell in the BBC TV soap since 1990, said he was "delighted" at having a new baby daughter.
