Peter Crouch wedding plans on hold

Plans for England footballer Peter Crouch's wedding to his model girlfriend have been put on hold as the couple wait for "the right time".

Peter and Abigail Clancy were reportedly due to get married next year. But the Tottenham Hotspur striker will be busy playing for England in the World Cup in South Africa during the summer.

So Abigail, known as Abbey, will have to wait a while for the big day.

She told People at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year awards: "We have both decided to have a long engagement - we're going to wait a while now. We're just waiting for the right time."

The couple began dating soon after Peter signed for Liverpool in 2005.

He popped the question on a holiday in Sardinia and they officially announced their engagement on July 15 this year. Reports have suggested they are planning a "huge wedding".
