Coldplay's lead guitarist Jonny Buckland booked former X Factor contestant Daniel Pearce to sing at his wedding.

Jonny exchanged vows with his long-term girlfriend Chloe last weekend.

Daniel, who made it to the judges' houses round when on the hit show, has been singing at weddings after being rejected by X Factor judge Simon Cowell. He was formerly a member of the boy band Pop Stars: The Rivals.

A guest at Jonny's wedding said: "It was a shock when we saw who was doing the music.

"Daniel was really good though. He had everyone up dancing. It was a great day. Jonny said he'd booked the band but had no idea who would be fronting it."

Just last week, the Coldplay boys, who have often spoken about their fascination with the talent show, had sent a hand-written 'good luck' note to current contestant Stacey Solomon.
