Princess Eugenie's 20th birthday
23/03/2010
Princess Eugenie is set to dine out in London with friends and family to celebrate her 20th birthday.
She is the youngest daughter of the Duke of York and his former wife, Sarah, Duchess of York. Eugenie was born at the private Portland Hospital on March 23, 1990, and a town crier announced the birth of the sixth in line to the throne across London.
The 71b 1oz Queen's granddaughter was delivered by Caesarean section as she was in the breech position.
Inspired by Eugenie - Queen Victoria's granddaughter, daughter of Princess Beatrice, the Queen Empress's fifth daughter and youngest child - the Duke and Duchess of York named the royal baby Princess Eugenie Victoria Helena of York.
Princess Eugenie, who was baptised during a morning service at the church of St Mary Magdalene, Sandringham, is the first royal baby to have a public christening.
She is currently a student at Newcastle University.
