Popular wedding hymn suggestions
Our guide to well known wedding hymn choices that make for a great sing-a-long!
A wedding without songs to sing along to would be like having fish without chips, but what songs should you choose?
With almost any style of wedding ceremony, this is when familiar hymns that you sang throughout your childhood come into their own, whether you remember them from school, church or singing along to Songs of Praise on TV before Sunday bedtime!
You can be sure you and your wedding guests can raise the roof with favourite hymns as they are likely to know the words and music, which is much better than listening to awkward mumblings as your guests grapple with a song they've got no clue how to sing.
Our CD for church ceremonies contains a classical selection of music for weddings. Take a look in the shop.
If the last time you sang a hymn was in school assembly and you've gone a bit vague on your favourites since, take a look at the list below to refresh your memory and help you choose the perfect crowd pleaser that will also means something special to you.
Do bear in mind though that you need to consider the instrumental accompaniment you'll have available on the day. Some hymns that work perfectly well on an impressive church organ are a real struggle for a guitar and vice versa! Have a quick word with the minister, organist or musicians you'll have on the day and see if you can have a run through your chosen hymns with them and come to some compromise that will work well if you don't have access to the full pipe organ, electric guitar and orchestra you had in mind!
Our CD for civil ceremonies contains a classical selection of music for weddings. Take a look in the shop.
