How and when did you meet?
We first met when I was 17 (1993). I joined the company where he worked and we became friends but that was all. Even at the age of 17, I knew I was TOTALLY in love with him. Unfortunately he thought I was too young, so we remained just friends. I then left but we kept in contact for about a year, after which we drifted apart.

How old are you both?
I am 29 & he is 33.

Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?
He took me to Milan on my birthday for a long weekend. On the Saturday night we were walking around (in the cold, I might add) and I was getting frustrated (he wanted the toilet & kept walking past them all)! Eventually he got down on one knee & I moaned at him, 'What are you looking for now?’ Then he proposed (& yes I did feel a bit foolish for a second, which was quickly replaced with complete JOY!)

Did you have hen and stag celebrations?
He went to Tenerife with the lads (where I believe they didn’t do much, other than eat, drink & party!) I went to Barcelona with my friends and family. My mum came too and really enjoyed herself. We all ended up in a Gay bar, which was fantastic - they know how to party!

Did your groom help you with the wedding planning?
He was quite helpful. I let him organise the cars; he made up the orders of service, table plan & place cards.

Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?
I used the 'To Do' list which I found VERY helpful.

Do you have a confetti web page?
I do... but never got round to giving anyone the address!

Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?
I ordered the bubbles and the confetti from the site.

Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it.
I wore Helen Marina 'Skye' which was absolutely beautiful. I bought this from Bride to Be in Reading. I also wore a pearl and diamante necklace & bracelet which my sister bought/lent me. My shoes were 'Passion' Pink by Paradox.

Did you have bridesmaids? If so, who did you choose and what did they wear?
I had 5 bridesmaids & 2 flower girls. The bridesmaids wore burgundy dresses (which they had made) & the flower girls wore ivory & gold dresses from House of Fraser.

Who did your groom choose for his best man and ushers, and what did they wear?
He chose for his best man, Ian (we all worked at the same company where I met my husband), his brothers and another best friend as the ushers. They all wore burgundy waistcoats and ivory cravats and the groom & best man wore the same but ivory waistcoat & burgundy cravats.

Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
Religious. I don’t go to church but I do believe in God and I do believe in the vows and take those VERY seriously.

Where did you hold your ceremony?
St Michael’s Church in Reading.

Where did you hold your reception?
The Waterside Marquee in Mapledurham. It looked absolutely gorgeous.

Did you have any special wedding transport?
We went for a more modern car (7 series BMW) but we had to hire a limo for all the bridesmaids. I think their car got more 'wows' than ours!

How many guests did you invite to your wedding, and did you have a separate evening guest list?
We had 128 in the day and about another 80 in the evening. I was worried only a few people would get up & dance but there were loads of people up. It was just such an amazing atmosphere - completely chilled & everyone was having a brilliant time. I can honestly say there was a smile on everyone’s face.

Did your reception have a particular theme in terms of colour or style?
The theme was ivory & burgundy (with a bit of gold chucked in).

How did you incorporate this in to your table settings?
The place cards & the favours.

Did you give your guests favours?
Yes, I made all 130 of them ON MY OWN! Oh how boring that was! I had ivory cones filled with mini rolls of love hearts for the filling which were then tied with a burgundy flower & burgundy ribbon (I was trying to forget that ordeal)!

Describe your flowers (bouquets and table decorations). Who was your florist?
My bouquet was a simple modern hand-tied bundle of roses with green foliage on the outside - simple but stunning. On the table we had candelabras with flowers on the top (don’t ask what they were, I can’t remember.) They were arranged by Cherubs in Reading (who I was a bit concerned about at first due to lack of contact but they were completely professional and did an outstanding job).

What did you choose to have on your menu? Did you have an outside caterer or did your venue handle the catering?
We used the venue caterer. We had a Caribbean buffet (too many people to serve) but I barely touched a thing!

What did you choose for your wedding cake?
The mother of a friend from work made it. We didn’t get to see it beforehand so it was a wonderful surprise when we got to the venue. It was so lovely and we even managed to keep the flowers from two of the tiers (and no, we didn’t keep the top tier for a Christening! We did plan to but had to cut it up as we didn’t get any of the cake at the venue!

Did you have any entertainment during the day or evening?
Only a DJ (who was fantastic and did more than I had ever expected - a good DJ really helps). Our tables were named after (mostly) Mowtown artists so we did our own backing music for the meal with only music from these artists (I don’t think anyone noticed mind)!

Did you have a gift list? If so, who did you have your list with?
I did, with Debenhams.

Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?
We spent it at the Madejski Hotel in Reading. Hubby booked it directly with them. We also had some friends and family staying there who we met for breakfast in the morning.

What was your most memorable moment of the day?
My gosh - so many! Seeing my bridesmaids all together; actually GETTING married. I would have to go with the Reception - it was fantastic. I really, really enjoyed it. We were completely GUTTED when it was time to go.

Did you experience any 'nightmare' moments in the run up to your wedding or on the day?
No, not one. Sorry guys, but we didn’t. There were a few hitches on the day (no soft drinks and not enough bottles of wine on the tables and they even ran out of food for the main meal)! Nothing you can do about it though so no point in fretting. We just got on with the day and made sure we enjoyed it!

Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?
Differently? Yes (as per my advice) Advice? Write down exactly what photos you want. We didn’t and I didn’t even get a picture of just me and the bridesmaids. Also get someone to touch up your make up and hair during the day (maybe set a time for them to drag you off). I got completely carried away but looking back on friends’ photos my hair could have done with a touch up and my make up! If anything goes wrong - don’t panic! You can’t do anything about it now. Just 'go with the flow'. The guests won’t know anyway! Oh, and don’t forget to HAVE FUN!
