Kelly and Matt

We were on holiday in Marmaris in Turkey. It was 9 September 2000 and it had been a really hot day - I'd caught a bad case of sunstroke. We had gone out for dinner and come back to the room early as I was feeling really rotten.

It was a beautiful, clear night and there were thousands of stars in the sky. Matt suggested dragging all the bedding and cushions out onto the balcony so that we could lay and look at the stars. We lay there for hours, laughing and talking, when all of a sudden Matt said: "Back in a minute!" and dashed out of the room. I later found out that Matt went to make an emergency call to my mum to ask for my hand in marriage!

When he eventually appeared again, Matt came out onto the balcony carrying a white rose. He got down on one knee and said: "Princess, I love you with all my heart and more and would love to make you my queen. Will you marry me?"

I burst into tears and accepted immediately. It was so romantic. I then ran up a £170 mobile phone bill calling everyone we knew to tell them. The owners of the hotel sent up some Champagne for us and everyone in the restaurant below cheered!

We are getting married on 4 December 2004 by which time we will have been together for six years. I can honestly say each day gets better and better and I can't wait to be Mrs Fry!
