Liane and Steve

Steve and I spent Christmas 1999 in southern France, near Bordeaux. On the night of 27th December, a hurricane hit the region, devastating the area and cutting off the electricity and telephones. We were blissfully unaware of the devastation caused. The lights had just gone out and we were sitting in the dark with a roaring log fire and a glass of vino when Steve popped the question. It was very romantic! To end our holiday, we spent the Millennium under the Eiffel Tower, slugging Champagne, grateful that we had escaped the worst of the storm, blissfully happy about our engagement.
