Nicola and Gary

My name is Nicola Halsall and I wanted to tell you my engagement story.

I was in Orlando, Florida (Sept 02) with my boyfriend Gary. The holiday had been booked for a while and encountered numerous pitfalls along the way. Our travelling companion (Gary's Mum) sadly passed away in January of this year, then Gary was admitted into the hospital in August with a pre-existing condition and we nearly didn't make it.

On arriving in the USA we decided to make the very best of our time there and booked a day swimming with dolphins. It was during our swim that my boyfriend proposed in front of a captive audience- LaToya the Dolphin and a lot of people. He was on bended knee and even brought the ring with him- I obviously said yes. The dolphin trainers then announced this to the whole of the park, all captured on video and camera! I was totally surprised but thrilled at the same time. After such a difficult run up to our holiday it was so romantic, I couldn't imagine a better place to be. I didn't want the day/holiday to end.

As you can understand this truly was a holiday of a lifetime and a proposal I shall never forget.

We are now in the process of planning our wedding for 2004!!!!!
