I'm a 'girl power' lass from Newcastle-upon-Tyne living in London. I just told my boyfriend, after knowing him eight months, that I want to get married! He was seriously shocked, so I told him to think about it. He said yes. I then told him to call his parents in New Zealand and tell them we had got engaged, to which he replied, "How do you get engaged?". My reply was simple, I told him by planning to marry, we have already got engaged and hastily added, "Then you buy me a ring!" His reply..."Is that right?" Easy peasy! I am now sporting a lovely 18-carat-gold diamond solitaire! We are having a church wedding up North in a local village church on 24 June, 2000. Sadly, his family will not be able to attend because they all live halfway across the world, but we are getting a good videographer, so they can get a glimpse of what it was all about.
