Sara and Ali

It all started in January 2003. I had been quite down, feeling lonely and that I would never have the opportunity to meet the man of my dreams. I was always online, chatting to my friends, when one day I received a pop up for a dating website where you could sign up for free. I didn't see any harm in giving it a go, and with nothing to lose I produced a profile and put some pictures up. A few weeks went by and I had received some interest, but they all lived too far away, or weren't my type. Then one day I received an email from a guy called Ali saying that he too was a student in Bristol (like me) and he would be interested in getting to know me. I definitely liked his picture, and his profile attracted me so I got in touch.

After a week or so of emails and text messages we decided to meet up in a bar we both knew. I was a little apprehensive at first, but after sitting chatting for three hours and finding that we had endless things in common I was hooked! We moved in together nine months later, knowing that one day we would get married, but I didn't know when. Then, last September (2004), he took me to Bruges in Belgium for a weekend and proposed to me with a ring he'd spent six months getting made especially for me! I was over the moon and I'm very excited about our wedding in July 2006.

Who would believe I would find my soul-mate online!
