We met in a nightclub on my sister-in-law's birthday! We actually went to college together, but hadn't seen each other for 3 years. When I first spotted him in the club I thought he's nice, oh, I know him, I'll go and chat to him. So I nudged him and said, 'Hi!'. He said, 'Hi Rachael and I said, 'Oh hi Blythe!' Only he wasn't Blythe, that was his best mate at college - lucikly for me he didn't take offence! We swapped numbers, started texting, realised we had a lot in common and 5 yrs down the line here we are!
25/26.
He proposed to me on Christmas day, not what I expected at all! We were laying in bed opening all our presents, after opening them all, he said, 'oh, I have one more special present for you - only something small'. I opened up the present and it was a Christmas decoration. He said that every year he was going to buy me a special Christmas decoration. It was a little fairy on top of a gift box. I put it down and was about to get up to make a cup of tea! Then he said, 'Look inside'. I opened the box and there inside was a gorgeous platimum diamond ring - so down on one knee he went and popped the question!
My hen do was a horse ride in a part of the New Forest and then in a limo went to Rubyz(drag queen cabaret restaurant!). Adam had a limo as well and went for a typical male curry and beers!
He came up with the save the date card, invitation and order of service theme, as well as made them with me! He made joint decisions with me on things such as the church, venue, honeymoon - even down to the favors we had! He even went to church almost every sunday for a year, so we could get married where we wanted to!
Yes - used the tools and forum for ideas.
Yes - Confetti for table decs
Bought it from Confetti and Lace in Salisbury. I went to a wedding fair and they were the only company to invite me to come and try some dresses on, so off I went with my mum and Adam's mum!! I only thought I'd be trying on dresses to see what suited - next thing you know I found the ONE! It is ivory with black detail, it has a massive train and requires a really big hoop to fill our the dress! I love it!
I bought the bridesmaids outfits with my mum! They were a long black skirt, ivory bodice with a black bolero jacket.
Pinstripe trousers, ivory waitcoat and cravats with black 3/4 tails.
Religious CoE ceremony.

Black and Ivory - full of flowers and sparkle!
White table linen and chair covers, black organza table runner and bows on chairs. We had 1 meter vases which had black material around the lips of vases - vases contained 3 arum lillies, bear grass plaited, aspididrum leaf and more bear grass hanging down with lack and clear beads. Also had dove confetti. Lastly had white candles on guest tables and black candles on top table.
Yes - heartshape fragranced soaps. Black soaps in white organza bags for the men and white soaps with black organza bags for the women.
Adam's mum was our florist. I had a beautiful shower bouquet with calla lillies, orchids and roses. My bridesmaids had cream roses in a bear grass plaited holder. We had an 12ft garland around the church door, an arrangement on the font, big pedestal at the front and smaller arrangements in three church windows. At the venue, we took the font and pedastal to use in pre-reception area. We had black sequin cones lais on their side with foliage and flowers falling out for pre-reception and then buffet table at night. We had the tall 1 mtr vases as described above on guest tables and three long rose arrangements on top tables. We had two three tier arrangements on the bar. The extra special final touch was Adam's mum made two swans which sat on pedestals with foliage and flowers handing down as if it was in the nest - they symbolise love and were at the entrance on our marquee!
A caterer at Parley Manor served us. We had either prawns and salmon, mushroom soup or pate for starter. Main: chicken with brie and mushroom, lamb shank (which everyone went for!), salmon or roasted squash tart for veggies! We then had a hog roast and BBQ fo the evening.
A little old lady made my cake for £90! We had a beautiful three tiered heart shape cake, which was ivory with black and ivroy rose and feather detail.
Band during the evening.
Debenhams.
Wedding night we went home - as no one can cook a fry up like my husband! We then stayed in a hotel night before flight - went to Grand Cayman (Caribbean). I booked my honeymoon through Caribbean vacations.
Walking in the church and my dress making an awful ripping noise as it got caught on the door! Seeing Adam for the first time and reading our vows, our choir singing an amazing prayer which brought tears to my eyes - oh just everything!!
Not at all - I'm more stressed out now trying to change my name!
Weddings are not hard to organise, just focus on what you want, set some timelines on when things need to be done - the more you can get done sooner, the better! Stay relaxed, if you get nervous, you will not remember your special day! |
