Are we expected to provide the photographer with a meal at our venue? If so does he eat from the wedding menu or something else?

You don’t have to feed your photographer, it’s not expected and some couples will choose to do so while others will not. Generally if you do offer them a meal then it will be from the same menu as the rest of your guests. It is a nice gesture to offer your photographer and minister/registrar a meal as part of your reception and as a rule most ministers and registrars will decline with thanks whereas some photographers, if they are there for the duration of the reception and into the evening, will accept with many thanks. It’s completely up to you.
