Q.

We’ve having a civil ceremony at a hotel and holding our reception there afterwards. I don’t know how to word the invites. Do I just say the venue, date and time and make no mention of the recepton afterwards, or will the guests think we are not going to feed them?!

A.

With regards to you invitation wording, you could say something like this;

Mr. & Mrs. Jeremy Jackson
request the pleasure of your company
at the marriage of their daughter
Helen Katherine
to
Mr. Michael John Williams
at Leez Priory, Chelmsford, Essex,
on Saturday 11th September
at 2.30 o’clock
followed by a reception.
