Q.

My husband and I are planning to renew our wedding vows. I’m not sure where to start and our budget is tight.

A.

There are several ways in which you can renew your marriage vows and it doesn’t have to be an expensive event. Start by making a list of what you want to say  to your partner, what promises you feel you need to accentuate and why. Then think about who you would like to be there and draw up a guest list. Consider the type of event you want to make it – whether informal and just an afternoon with drinks or more formal with a meal going on into the evening. Set yourself a budget and then go from there. It’s certainly a lovely opportunity for a new outfit and a party! Whether you choose to arrange it in church or in a humanist or civil ceremony, our Renewing your wedding vows section has a series of articles to help you with this.
