Q.

I’m really stuck whether to wear my hair up in a chic bun or down with curls and volume? I usually wear my hair down but it’s quite fine and straight so it never has volume. Please help!

A.

Ask a few close friends and family for their opinion on how your hair would look best and perhaps ask your fiance for his opinion too. There are pros and cons to wearing your hair down for the day as, even with the best curler and hair spray, the style is likely to drop as the day goes on. Also for wedding photos outside, if it’s a windy day then there’s more of a risk of windswept photos than if your hair is neatly up in a bun.

If you do choose to wear your hair down, you can always bring along curlers and spray to the evening reception to touch up your hair when you touch up your make-up. If your hair is fine though it may be an idea to have it put up and into a doughnut ring to create a larger bun. You could even have a hair piece or extensions to match the colour of your hair to give the illusion of longer, thicker, fuller hair. Pull a few strands forward and have them curled and sprayed for a pretty look and place your tiara or flowers or veil firmly in place.  Find a local hairdresser to book a consultation appointment and discuss your options further.
