Q.

The vicar who married us was such a lovely man and we would like to thank him in some way. What would be appropriate?

A.

It’s lovely to want to show your appreciation and to say thank you. Some couples invite the vicar to their wedding reception, others simply thank them on the day. If you want to do something special then I’m sure he’d appreciate a hand-written card. Don’t feel you need to send him a luxury hamper but perhaps a small potted plant if you feel the need to get him something he can keep. A card or simply a heart-felt thank you at one of his Sunday services will, no doubt, be the most appropriate way you could say thank you.
