I am getting married next year and our colour scheme is navy blue and silver. What colour and style dress is best for a plus size bride as I don’t really want to wear white?
Consider wearing a show-stopping navy blue gown, perhaps one with a corsetted waist, a low v-neck and a long A-line skirt which are all very flattering to the more curvaceous figure. It’s so important to find the right wedding dress for your shape. Add a white wrap or shawl, or even a stunning fake fur stole. Simply Be specialises in plus sizes from 14-32 and has a gorgeous bridal boutique as does Amore Plus Bridal who have some lovely gowns. For a navy dress try looking at Bridesmaids and even Mother of the Bride ranges as they have more colour and style options than most wedding dress ranges. Light in the Box is also well worth looking at. Here’s a stunning gown in navy available up to a size 26 and just £63. Team it with a white stole and you could have your ideal bridal gown!
Accessorise with navy and silver shoes and a bouquet of white roses tied together with navy or silver ribbon. Your bridesmaids could wear patterned navy and white dresses bought from the high street or casual white dresses with navy shawls.
You could decorate your reception tables with striking white topiary tree centrepieces, navy floating candles, and silver table decorations, navy cameras and napkins. Here are some more ideas for a navy and white themed wedding from one of our Real Weddings featured recently. I’m sure whatever you choose to wear you will look and feel beautiful. I hope that helps. x
