We are looking to start planning our wedding but we want to move as well, so we’re on a tight budget. Our biggest issue is finding a venue in London within our price range. We want something cosy but different. Any ideas and money saving tips would be great!
How exciting to be getting married and moving home at the same time, it will be a whole new start to your life. If you’re on a budget then I’d suggest considering booking an ‘out of season’ wedding during spring or late autumn as most venues have vastly reduced prices at these times of the year. Search the Venues Showcase in Greater London for a choice of options.
Look at local pubs or clubs for function rooms as often they charge no room hire at all and will allow you to decorate the space, bring in your own music and catering as long as you buy drinks at their bar. You could book a swanky upstairs bar in a local pub with a small dance floor, create your own playlist on your iPod and bring in buffet catering from a local supermarket. Put some money behind the bar or let your guests know in advance that there will be a pay-bar.
Alternatively, look at church or village halls you could decorate or, weather-permitting, consider having a picnic on a common or in a pretty park nearby. For more great money-saving ideas in How to Have a Champagne Wedding on a Cava Budget.
