Emma's answers to Asking for his daughter's hand

Question

My fiancée and I are getting married in October. Despite this being a foregone conclusion I would like to write to my prospective father-in-law who lives in Barbados to ask for his daughters hand in marriage. Have you got any suggestions on how I should word it?

Answer

I've jotted down a few ideas that might help you to word a letter to your fiancée's father.
1) Tell him how much you love and respect his daughter.
2) Explain how much she means to you and she is a really big part of your life.
3) It's because of this love and respect you have for each other that you'd like to commit to her for the rest of your lives.
4) Therefore you ask for his blessing and his daughters hand in marriage.
