Emma's answers to Winter wedding
Question
We're having a winter wedding. Unfortunately, I can't find much imspiration in magazines with regard to the style of dress to wear - they are all very 'summery'. Can you help?
Answer
Outfits for winter weddings tend to use heavier and richer fabrics. A great look for winter brides is an ivory crushed velvet empire line gown or ivory silk pain velvet dress.
Whatever you choose you are likely to want to put something over your dress. You could choose a cape, or a coat. You might choose an organza poncho with ostrich feathers, a fake fur wrap or stole, or a pashmina or shrug.
As an alternative to an ivory gown, you could opt for a colour such as burgundy or deep red.
The main thing is to choose something you like and that either has long sleeves or a coat/wrap to keep you warm (especially if you're getting married in a church).
