Emma's answers to Remembering mum

Question

My mum died a few years ago and I would really like her to be remembered somehow on my wedding day. Do you have any ideas of how I can do this?

Answer

One of the nicest ways to remember a loved one without upsetting your guests and yourself too much is to talk to the vicar and arrange for a special reading to be given. Then together with your partner you could pick a poem or reading that you feel most symbolises this person. You could ask a close member of your family or a friend to read the piece and mention whom it is for. The vicar might also be able to say a few words.

You might also like to have a collection of family photographs at your wedding, including photographs of your mum.
