Emma's answers to When can I take my gloves off?
Question
I have long white gloves with my gown. I don't know when I take the gloves off for my fiancé to put the wedding ring on my finger?
Answer
Traditionally the glove is slit open under your ring finger, so that when it comes to putting the ring on, you just slip your finger out. It isn't until the receiving line that you take your gloves off. If you want to break with tradition and not have to cut your gloves however, you could take them off, either at the top of the aisle before entering the ceremony or just before the exchange of rings. It's then up to you whether you choose to put them back on for the receiving line and reception.
