Emma's answers to Gifts for parents

Question

My dad has kindly offered to take the photos at our wedding. I would like to buy him a gift to show our appreciation. My mum has also agreed to help me with the flowers for the wedding so if you have any ideas of suitable gifts for my mum and dad, I would be very grateful.

Answer

As fresh flowers tend to last for just a few days why not give your parents a wedding day rose to plant in the garden? Your mum and dad will have a living reminder of your special day and your feelings towards them every year when it blooms.

If you'd like to give them a treat to look forward to after the wedding, how about a weekend away? You could book a theatre break in London or a country weekend somewhere quieter, depending on their taste. If you want to make it a bit different, there are some great themed weekend breaks around.

If you're looking for a keepsake, how about a lovely photo frame with a photograph of your wedding.

Finally if money is a bit tight, how about making a voucher inviting them for a special dinner with the newly-weds! I'm sure they will treasure this as much as anything else.
