Emma's answers to Choosing our reception colours
I'm getting married next November and would like to have my colour scheme at least sorted in my head so I have a starting point. People have suggested autumnal colours but I can only think of orange. Do you have other colour suggestions?
When you're choosing your colours, there are various things to consider that can help you make a decision.
1. If you've already booked your venue, what colour does it dictate? Look around the room and think what colours would suit the curtains, carpet etc. Many people don't do this and I think it's really important. For example, if the room has bright red curtains, it's important to choose a colour scheme that will co-ordinate.
2. Think of the season and style of wedding. This is something you're obviously already doing. A November wedding will suit 'warming' colours so perhaps... orange and gold, lilac and gold, rich pink and gold, ivory and gold. Gold is warming, so you could combine your chosen colour with just a hint of gold. Perhaps the only thing to steer clear of would be very pastel colours which could be a bit pale and 'cool' in the winter.
3. What do you like?! This is the most important thing! It's your wedding day and there are no rules - have a look at some of the pictures on the Confetti website to get some inspiration: http://www.confetti.co.uk/shopping/department/guides/themes/default.asp
