Emma's answers to Butterfly Theme
Question
I am getting married on the 2nd August and we are having a marquee for our reception which we are decorating ourselves. My theme for the wedding is butterflies and I am looking for a stylish but cost effective decorations I can use as center pieces and around the marquee. Can you suggest any tips?
Answer
Butterflies are a great idea for a theme, and there are many products on the Confetti website to help you make your venue into a butterfly paradise! Check the inspiration gallery for ideas.
A cost effective way of incorporating butterflies into the decoration for your venue would be to print high quality images of butterflies, attach 2 together and fold their wings backwards, and suspend them from the ceiling on thread or nylon cord. This would give the impression of butterflies flying above your tables. Placing delicate paper butterflies in the floral arrangements would also be very pretty, and using butterfly name cards would reinforce your theme at the tables.
Another table centerpiece idea for you is to use large vases of flowers (or reuse your floral pew ends if you are having them for your ceremony) and add a stained glass butterfly on a stick to each. Most large garden centres sell these. The coloured stained glass would look beautiful and the light would shine through it to a magical effect. When your wedding is over you'll be able to keep your butterflies to put into plant pots around your house and garden and they'll always remind you of your special day.
