Emma's answers to So stressed!

Question

My fiance and I are getting married in February 2009 and I am driving myself crazy worrying about everything being prefect and am in serious danger of ruining the day for myself before it has even happened. Silly little details really bother me to the point of tears and my fiance really doesn't understand it. He says the same thing "as long as you marry me who cares about the rest" and as every other woman on earth screams "awww" it just makes me more stressed. Any suggestions you have on easing the pressure would be gratefully received

Answer

All brides-to-be worry about their wedding and naturally you want the day to be perfect, but upsetting yourself won't solve anything. Ease the panic by making a thorough 'To-Do' list and checking things off when they are complete. Take advantage of Confetti's free Planning Tools to help you to get started. The secret to a perfect wedding is in the planning.
Talk to other brides on the Confetti Forums, they are probably going through exactly the same thing as you, and may be able to help you out with suggestions and tips.
Try to delegate some of the tasks such as sourcing the flowers or favours; can your Mum help, or maybe your Chief Bridesmaid? This will help to lighten the load for you. If they are unable (or unwilling) to help, then consider hiring the services of a wedding coordinator who will take on all the stresses of planning your big day. The Confetti Supplier Directory has details of planners in your area.

As much as you disagree, your husband-to-be is correct. As long as you are marrying him, what do the little things matter? Your marriage is far more important than your wedding. Try to relax and enjoy your wedding planning - it can be great fun and we are here to help you every step of the way.
