Films have always influenced fashion, and the wedding industry is no exception! The eagerly anticipated new adaptation of The Great Gatsby, currently in post-production and scheduled for 2013 release, has already had some very favourable words being said about the stunning 20s-style costumes to be admired in the movie stills. This blooming new trend has already appeared in some major fall/winter 2012 and spring/summer 2013 collections, and we predict it will be huge next year! The influence can be found not just in gowns, but also embellishments and styling.
The key features of this style include: gowns cut very low in front or back, mostly sleeveless or alternatively with lace or fringe sleeves, beading, sequins and embroidery, feather accents, straight cut shapes that just skim the figure, low waistlines, and short hemlines. While the 20s look fits a summer wedding perfectly, it can work all year round with appropriate accessories, such as longer sleeves for spring/autumn, and a feather or fur bolero for the winter.
Here are our favourite choices for that perfect 20s inspiration look!

i am doing a 1920s gatsby themed wedding i need some ideas where i can get the bridsmaid dresses though if anyone can help that would be great thanks lara x
Hi Lara, thank you for your comment! I think first you need to do a little research online for the particular style. 1920s dresses usually have drop waists, so this is the style you should focus on. You can add some accessories like little hats with feathers, peeptoe shoes with buckles, and short gloves to add more vintage authenticity. Here is a link where you can see lots of dresses in that style and take it from there – hope it helps!
