Colour My Wedding… Chocolate and Red

Written by    Last updated: October 19, 2011

Brown and red may sound like a dangerous colour palette to play with, but done right they can bring a warm, rustic feel to a winter wedding. Picking the right shade is the hard part, but isn’t that what we at Confetti are here for?! Would you go for browns and reds for your winter wedding? Let us inspire your big day.

How to work it

To create a warm palette for a cosy winter wedding, light browns and soft reds work best. This is the palette for a more stylish bride, who wants to see her guests enjoy themselves in comfort and style.

If you want a more elegant and grand affair, go for a chocolate brown, or a vibrant red, but never both together. Where you are leaning to one colour more, use the other as an accent, maybe as a nail colour, or with a touch in your bouquet, but don’t have them both fighting for attention!

This gold and white table setting is beautiful in its natural simplicity. A cream runner draped over a bare wooden table gives the whole look a vintage feel, while the gold accents bring a glamorous edge.

This Monique Lhullier dress is so soft and luxurious, and would be perfect for a winter bridesmaid with a fur stole for warmth outside the venue (if you have the budget!)
