Haydyn and I had talked about for a while. We had bought the ring with the intention of getting engaged on Bonfire night - but Haydyn's sister got there before…

I was 23 and Adrian was 25.
Adrian proposed to me.
We were on a small, secluded beach in the Galapagos Islands and we were the only people around. I was taking pictures and then started walking back to put my camera in my bag, when Adrian said “Sweetheart…” and I turned around and he was down on one knee! He gave a nice speech about wanting to spend the rest of his life with me and my first response was “Are you being serious?” because I was so shocked! But then I, of course, said yes!
I first shared the news with my mom, even though she had already known for months. Adrian asked my dad a few months before when we were in America visiting them.
My original ring was a simple silver band that Adrian bought in a market in Ecuador for $5! And he had haggled that price down from $6! It was just meant to be temporary ring until we returned from our trip, but I was still devasted when I lost it in the Gulf of Mexico. It slipped off my finger as it was too big! We later picked out a half carat diamond solitaire set in a 6‐prong white gold setting. It was the exact ring I’ve always wanted!
I helped pick out the second ring as Adrian wanted to make sure I got what I had always dreamed of!
We are getting married on 25 October, 2008 in Adrian’s hometown of Hinckley, Leicestershire.
I’m looking forward to planning a beautiful and personal ceremony for us and a great party afterwards for our friends and family!
