Daniella and James Real Engagement Story

We planned to go to a friend’s house for a New Year’s Eve dinner party, arranged between the women back in October. There were about twelve of us and we all had to wear black tie or evening dresses.Mike and Angie (our friends) chauffeured us to our host’s house party at about 8pm and we started the evening with Champagne and canapés by a roaring log fire. We then had a fabulous three-course meal prepared by all of us, with lots of wine flowing. The music was on and I got up and danced with various men friends – enjoying the swing of the party. Soon enough, Big Ben was striking on the TV and I rushed over to James, hugging and kissing him and wishing him a Happy New Year and, just at that moment, he asked me to marry him.I was totally shocked. We had talked about marriage as we’d been living together for five years by then and he had always said, ‘one day’. I had totally given up and was actually going to ask him for the last time on 29 February being Leap Year! My answer was, ‘Yeah, okay’ and then he presented me with a beautiful aquamarine single-stone ring – gorgeous! Then the fireworks started going off in the garden and we went out to join the rest of the gang to watch them, meanwhile drinking more Champagne and me showing my friends my ring. I was on cloud nine! Everyone was so pleased for us and afterwards we all drank liqueurs and danced the night away – finally dropping into bed at about 5.30 in the morning. It was a fabulous evening and we will always remember it.
