At college in 1999 when we were doing our a-levels
On the beach in Dominican Republic (2004) it was a complete surprise. he got down on one knee in the moonlight, complete with ring, which i loved.
I went to Lanzarote for 4 days with 8 friends. we had great fun, dressed up as bunny girls and relaxed and did some sun bathing in the day. I also had a hen night at home for people who couldn’t come abroad, my friend organised it as a surprise. it was a karaoke bus which was fab. Robert went to Latvia on his stag do with his group of friends and they went shooting.
Yeah, he was really good, he arranged the chocolate fountain and string quartet he was very good at ringing around different suppliers and getting quotes.
I used the things to do planner which was really helpful and the suppliers list. i also used the the forum constantly which was great for suppliers, advice and reassurance as well as a bit of fun.
Yes, we brought champagne bubbles, to put on our tables from the confetti store Birmingham.
i wore a strapless ivory dress with full skirt and chapel length train by mori lee. it was truly the princess dress i wanted with tulle and embroidery on the bodice. I brought it from Pronuptia in Nottingham and the staff in there were so lovely and helpful. I wore a waist length veil with crystal and pearl detail which was also from Pronuptia. I wore ivory shoes by rainbow club. i had a crown tiara made for me which had 5 10cm peaks made with crystals and pearls. My necklace and bracelet were made to complement by the same lady.
I had 5 bridesmaids, my 2 younger sisters Gemma and Melissa and 3 friends Amie, Rachel and Tracy. they all wore Alice James dresses which were strapless and had a crossover detail at the front. they were a bright pink colour called cotton candy. They all wore rainbow club shoes which i had dyed to match. they wore pearl and crystal tiaras in their hair which i made and was so proud of. It saved some money too. They all wore a silver chain with pink crystal detail which i brought and gave them as thank you gifts on the wedding morning.
Robert had his friend Chris as best man, his friend gavin and my sisters Boyfriend Adrain as his ushers. they all wore grey morning suits with tailcoats, a patterned pink waistcoat and pink cravat which were from Greenwoods.
We had a civil ceremony which suited us both as we are not religious, we made it personal to us by writing our own vows and having my sister Gemma and Adrian do readings.
Eastwood Hall, Nottingham,
Eastwood Hall, Nottingham
No, we stayed at the venue the night before, which saved us money by not having cars.
we had 80 guests come to the day and another 50 came to the evening celebration.
The theme was pink and disney princess. This theme was carried through the day by walking down the aisle to sleeping beautys waltz and our first dance was elton johns can you feel the love tonight from the lion king.
The Tables were named after disney princesses, each table had a quote from the film they were from. we put a pink feather in each of the guests glasses. They also had pink rose petals scattered and fishbowls with floating gerbera and candles were used for table centres
Yes, each guest had a pink box which contained chocolates which was tied with a white ribbon. Each box had a personalised tag with the guests name on so they doubled and place settings.
I had a hand tied bouquet of white and pink sweet akito roses and pink gerbera. the bridesmaids had a smaller version with white roses and pink gerebera. The men had pink gerebera button holes. The Top table decoration was a large spray of Pink Gerbera, pink roses, star gazer lilys and pink anthrthuims. Each table had goldfish bowls with floating gerbera and candles. We used April Flowers, Nottingham
We had chicken pate for starter, Lamb with white onion sauce for main and profiteroles with hot chocolate sauce and cream for dessert. the venue did the catering
My mum made the cake and did an excellent job. it was a 4 tier iced fruit cake which were stacked on top of each other. It had flowers of different sizes and different colour shades of pink cascading down. On the top were replicas of me and Robert made by Character Creations.
We had a string quartet (4tissimo) which played during the ceremony and drinks reception. we had a disco (right track) for the evening celebrations.
Yes with john lewis
The first night was at Eastwood Hall and we went to mexico for 14 nights for our honeymoon. we stayed at the 5* all inclusive moon palace golf and spa resort in cancun. which was amazing. we booked it with Thomson.
Was the ceremony, hearing the music, seeing Robert standing waiting for me it felt as though we were the only people in the room. the speeches were also really lovely, my dad speech brought a tear to my eye and Roberts was very funny, telling stories of how we got together,
Nothing, everything went smoothly
My advice is relax and enjoy every moment. even if a few things dont go to plan no one will notice i promise. one thing i do wish we had was a professional video. there is so much you miss or dont take in. We had a relative do a bit and it was so lovely to watch back.
