Linda and Alan
27/01/2005 – The Kakslauttanen Hotel, Finnish Lapland
How and when did you meet?
About 10 years ago, while we were working in the same bookshop. We were friends for a couple of years before we started going out.
How old are you both?
I’m 32, he is 27.
Where, when and how did he (or you!) propose?
He proposed in Oct 2003 in New York.
Did you have hen and stag celebrations?
He had a bit of a pub crawl and I went to the Ice Bar in London.
Did your groom help you with the wedding planning?
He helped with a lot of the arranging and contacting the travel agents and hotel.
Did you use confetti to plan your wedding? If so, how did the website help you?
Used it to budget and as a countdown.
Did you buy any confetti products for your wedding? If so, did you visit a store, buy online or by mail order?
Insurance by mail order.
Tell us about your outfit, and where you bought it.
It was an Angel Bride dress from the Wedding Warehouse in Slough. It was the first dress I tried on and despite trying others I knew it was perfect for the location.
Did you have a civil or religious ceremony?
We had a civil ceremony.
Where did you hold your ceremony?
The Ice Chapel at The Kakslauttanen Hotel in Finnish Lapland.
Did you have any special wedding transport?
We were both taken to and from the chapel in sleighs drawn by reindeer.
Where did you spend your first night and honeymoon? Who did you book your honeymoon with?
First night was spent in an igloo. Due to fly out on honeymoon to Japan on Valentines Day.
Is there anything you would do differently, or any advice you would give to other brides?
Everything was perfect and I would recommend the location to any brides looking for something a bit different.
