Same element signs
Normally each sign gets along easily with the other signs in the same element. So Sagittarius should be fine with the other Fire signs: Leo and Aries. However, ease is not necessarily a good thing. One of the secrets of a successful relationship is to have enough in common, but also enough that is different.
The element of Fire: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Typically, the Fire type is an upbeat, enthusiastic, warm and inspirational kind of person. Often a leader and one who lives in the future, the fire person is a child at heart. You two big kids may enjoy a fun, playful, fast-paced lifestyle. The envy of your friends, you inspire them with your enthusiasm, vitality and general ‘get up and go’. You see life as one big game and consequently are great at just making things happen. However, your easy-come, easy-go philosophy can also mean that you are not afraid to take the kind of risks that can yield big dividends…but also on occasion, big losses.
This is an agreeable combination as both signs like freedom of expression. Aries will like the other’s expansiveness, while Sagittarius is unlikely to feel smothered in this relationship. Both are exuberant and enthusiastic with Aries’ competitiveness not being challenged by Sagittarius, who is tolerant and not threatened by it. The only possible down side of all that energy is that they may come up with plans that are too big or impractical and there may be delays. However, Sagittarius will always be on hand with a sense of humour and ready to expand Aries’ horizons, both physically, through traveling to faraway places, and mentally, through the world of ideas.
These two signs complement each other, with each sign bringing out the best in the other. Both are optimistic, frank and open hearted. They share a common love of adventure and excitement. The fires of physical attraction are likely to burn bright between Leo and Sagittarius. Possible conflicts could do with deciding where to put down roots, as Sagittarius likes to be on the move. However, the power of optimism that both these signs possess in abundance will overcome most challenges that come their way.
When two of this excitable and enthusiastic sign get together, they will generate a great deal of activity. There is a sense of restlessness about this combination. Both relish their freedom to a point where it is hard for them to put down roots and stay in one place. There is a great sense of camaraderie and genuine friendship between these two. Both are incredibly optimistic and adventurous, especially when it comes to travelling to faraway places. The sign is known for speaking its mind, but neither of you will mind the other doing so. You may have trouble making a decision on where to settle down and when to start a family, but on the whole this is a well-matched combination and even beyond romance, you will always remain good pals.
The element of Fire with Earth
Fire can help Earth to learn to take risks and take life less seriously and Earth can restrain Fire’s more outrageous and unrealistic impulses. At best, this combination can be great for business as well as personal relationships, with Fire providing the vision and enthusiasm necessary for any project, and Earth attending to the details and getting things organised. No prizes for guessing who will wash the dishes or change the nappies though.
In many ways this is the classic ‘Odd Couple’ with Sagittarius’ thirst for travelling to faraway places combined with Taurus’ love of staying in the security of the home. Sagittarians love variety while Taurus is perfectly content with the same routine. The trick to making this work is if each allows the other the space to do their own thing. There are some things that keep them together; Sagittarians have a sense of humour which Taurus can appreciate, while Taurus provides the firm base that allows Sagittarius the ability to explore new horizons and somewhere calm and restorative to return to after all that travelling.
While Virgo is controlled and methodical, Sagittarius prefers a more reckless and free-thinking approach to life. Both are mutable signs and therefore are constantly looking at ways of widening their knowledge and improving themselves. There should be excellent communication between these two as the curiosity of Mercury receives the expansion of Jupiter. The challenge in this relationship may come from both choosing change for change’s sake and from differing attitudes to mundane tasks: Virgo wants order and Sagittarius can’t be bothered with details. However, with a positive attitude these two can go beyond being lovers and also become great friends.
Sagittarius constantly likes to explore new horizons while Capricorn likes to follow a more well-trodden path. Sagittarius soon forgets, whereas Capricorn can bear a grudge over a long period of time. Capricorn looks at life rather seriously while Sagittarius is forever taking an optimistic and jovial view on things. Capricorn could end up viewing Sagittarius as irresponsible and inconsiderate, while Sagittarius might regard Capricorn as gloomy and restrictive. On the plus side, they can be a winning team if they’re willing to learn from each other and appreciate the other sign’s positive qualities. Capricorn could learn about extending its horizons, while Sagittarians can get inspired to see projects to a successful completion.
This can be a relationship with lots of laughter, fun and big ideas. It’s great for a couple involved in politics or education, but when it comes to running the house– will you both ever get anything done? Fire can teach Air to think big and to be more enthusiastic, while Air can encourage Fire to stop and think before embarking on a course of action.
Both signs are mentally oriented but also playful, since exchanging ideas for them is fun. They are the Peter Pan pair and often refuse to grow up. They simply love games, parties and socialising, so commitment and responsibility doesn’t come easily to either of them. Sagittarius is attracted to Gemini’s speed and ability to collect heaps of information and facts, and Gemini is fascinated by Sagittarius’ big ideas. Geminis tend to be curious – they want to know about everything but can miss the bigger picture, so Sagittarians can show them how to seek overall understanding. On the down side, Sagittarius may accuse Gemini of being superficial and fickle, and Gemini may occasionally get fed up with Sagittarius’ constant preaching and ‘know it all’ attitude. However, they respect each other’s need for change and unrestrained movement, and this can contribute to the longevity of a relationship between this pair.
These two can have a lot of fun together! They are interested in meeting up with friends and have a liberal approach to life. There will be a lot of travel and their social life will be buzzing with activity, the charm of Libra and the bon homie of Sagittarius making them a welcome couple at get-togethers. Sagittarians value their independence and Libra tactfully allows them their freedom. Of the two, Libra is the more stable and will sometimes have to rein in the exuberant and over-the-top ambitions of Sagittarius. There is likely to be a great deal of laughter and good times together for this popular couple.
|Planet||Jupiter||Saturn and Uranus|
This Fire and Air combination is likely to get along like a house on fire! Both signs love the spirit of adventure and value their sense of independence highly. They are equally happy with each other’s company as with being with large numbers of people. There is a great intellectual rapport, which could lead to animated conversations that could carry on until the wee hours of the morning. They will not be short on physical attraction either, as both signs are drawn to each other. Their lives are likely to be busy, with a great deal of comings and goings. Both like to stay in touch with the latest news, trends and ideas. The fact that neither sign is overly sentimental or emotional makes it easy for them to stay together, both as loving partners and as friends.
The element of Fire with Water
This can be a volatile and passionate pairing, akin to being on an emotional roller-coaster. Fire may accuse Water of pouring cold water on their enthusiasm and Water may find Fire rather insensitive. On the plus side, Fire can show Water that the world is not such a scary place. Water may help Fire to grasp the concept of subtlety and to pay more attention to their feelings.
These two have completely contrasting natures, with Cancer seeking nurture and safety and Sagittarius constantly wanting to set off to explore the unknown. Cancer is more concerned with family and personal relationships, while Sagittarius interests are universal. In order to make this work Cancerians have to allow Sagittarians their freedom, their ‘space’ and to occasionally join them in their adventures. Sagittarians on the other hand, have to be aware of Cancer’s sensitivity and offer reassurance, at least on an emotional level, from time to time.
|Planet||Jupiter||Mars and Pluto|
Fiery Sagittarius and Mars-ruled Scorpio share a passionate attitude to life. In the case of Scorpio, however, the passion is more to do with personal relationships, while for Sagittarius it might be a philosophical cause. Conflict in the relationship could arise from Scorpio wanting to possess and Sagittarius’ love of independence. Sagittarians love socialising with large groups of people, while Scorpio is more comfortable with deeper and more intimate gatherings. However, stimulating relationships are based on differences and there is a great deal that these two signs can learn from each other. Scorpio teaches Sagittarius fixity of purpose and Sagittarius helps Scorpio to be more expansive and explore the wider horizons.
|Planet||Jupiter||Jupiter and Neptune|
Both these signs are ruled by the planet Jupiter and will share a common appreciation of matters to do with philosophy, mysticism, travel and humanitarian causes. In addition, both signs are also mutable, loving the sense of adventure and change. The differences that arise are from having the opposing elements of Fire and Water. Pisces operates on an emotional and somewhat passive level, whereas Sagittarius is an impulsive and active sign. The indecisiveness of Pisces could be infuriating to Sagittarius who wants to get on with things quickly. However, both are compassionate and generous, which is a great asset in establishing a long-term personal relationship.
