Hi ladies! We are getting married in Sorrento, Italy and have booked a violin and cello for the ceremony. I'm driving myself mad listening to music for walking down the aisle and during the service. I wanted a modern song but some sound completely different on strings. Looking for recommendations for either a modern love song or a beautiful classical piece. Thanks so much xx
Helen Taylor: Christina Perri Thousand years we had played at ours on strings and it was beautiful, also Israel Kamakawiwo's version of somewhere over the rainbow is fab on strings.
Get them also to send you their repertoire.
Laura Klapkowski: I don't know if you've watched friends but when Phoebe gets married they play "here there and everywhere" by the Beatles on steel drums and it sounds beautiful. I'm guessing it would also sound good on strings.
Katie Russell: See if they can provide you with a list of music they perform or know as a starting point. If not, try listening to group like the dotted crotchets on you tube to give you an idea of how modern songs sound. I've realised though, that you can't listen to everything so just have to trust that what you choose will be lovely and they'll do a good job xx
Becky Morgan: We had salted wound by sia. No harpist has played it before and ours had to practice and it was stunning!!!! So gentle and beautiful! I know no one who's had that song so we was nice to have something not common where everyone says oh I wanted that song first like Ed sheeran typically
Dilek Millard: Check out the Vitamin String Quartet. They do string adaptations of modern songs so you should be able to find one you like the sound of then give it to your wedding musicians.
Samantha Hale: Once in a lifetime by landon austin, gone gone gone by philip philips , wonderwall by oasis, but always ask for their favourite pieces to play..they will be willing to assist x
Leanne Barker: I'm getting married there too...how exciting!!I would ask for a playlist from them. I've gone with the harpist and she gave me a great list x
Gemma Redford: With or without you? I had a piece of music from Hannibal because I've always loved it. It's called vide cor meum. It's Italian & beautiful x
Kirsty Nicholson: I had found a heart by Emily Hearn to walk down the aisle. I had it slowed down and played acoustically by my musician friends. Xxx

Rebecca Bradley: a thousand years by the piano guys has a cello in it too sounds beautiful
