We want the 'theme' colour of our wedding to be cherry red, mens ties bridesmaids dresses etc however to stop it looking to christmassy would mixing in white and pinks in the floral arrangements help keep it fresh and summery or just look mixed up and confused?
I think that cherry red would be a great colour for your wedding theme, very striking and modern. However, I do feel that pink may clash with the red so you should be careful. Mixing white with red can be difficult too as you should avoid what is known as the 'blood and bandages look' and go for a warmer cream instead. Cherry red and cream is quite a sophisticated summery look.
In order to keep your arrangements fresh and summery, and to make a bolder statement, I would suggest bright green foliage with deep purple accent flowers. Or perhaps a sunset palette would be suitable, using oranges and yellows. Orange Asiatic lilies or orange cala lilies would look stunning with bright red and some smaller yellow blooms such as gerbera or daisies. Bold and bright sunflowers are a great choice for a less formal bouquet, particularly for a summer wedding.
You can have your bridal party wearing cherry red cravats for the groom's men and red dresses for the bridesmaids, and perhaps a red gerbera or even a bold sunflower for the buttonhole or bouquets to keep things summery?
