Hand Fasting Wedding

Q

I’d like to arrange an outdoor hand fasting ceremony. As hand fasting is a traditional Pagan ceremony, I don’t think it would be recognised as a legal ceremony so I think we would have to get married in a register office as well. Can you help me find someone to do the service?

A
You are correct in thinking that a Pagan handfasting marriage ceremony is not legally binding so you would need to marry in a civil ceremony, not necessarily in a register office as these days many venues are licensed to perform civil ceremonies. You could then hold your Pagan ceremony directly after. For more information go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Handfasting This gives some general information on hand fasting ceremonies and our featured Pagan Celebrant: http://www.confetti.co.uk/article/view/6981-7867-0-Pagan_Celebrant_Kel_Featured_Celebrants.do will be able to advise on how to go about holding your own handfasting ceremony.
