We are having a small ceremony and dinner for about 30 people, followed by an evening reception where we are offering a small buffet and limited drinks (basically a free bar until a set amount of money runs out). How do we word our evening invitations to let people know that we are not providing unlimited free drinks?
People generally take money to weddings anyway - there aren't many situations where guests are offered a free bar all night. However, if guests can't pay by card and will need cash, it's a good idea to mention it in advance.
If you have an 'information sheet' in your invitation, include something like
'A free bar will be available for a limited time during the evening. After that, the bar will take cash only.'
