One of the world’s most beautiful and romantic countries, Italy boasts stunning cities like Venice, Florence, Rome or Naples, unique coastlines like the Riviera and the Amalfi and a heavenly Tuscan countryside, not to mention the enchanting Lake District and more unspoiled treasures still to be discovered by tourism. Laura Frappa, the chief wedding director and event designer at Exclusive Italy Weddings, reveals to Confetti the most magnificent Italian wedding venues, where many illustrious events have been held in the past few years.

The Ca Sagredo is a stunning 15th century Palazzo set on a serene Venetian canal. The walls and ceilings, adorned with unique original paintings by Venetian artists of the 17th and 18th centuries, set the tone for a stylish and sophisticated affair. Wedding ceremonies take place in one of the classic halls of the Palazzo, and can be followed by an aperitif in a beautiful Venetian hall overlooking the canal. Finally the wedding dinner is served in the enchanting frescoed music hall. No matter if your party is made of a small or large group of friends and family, the refined elegance, timeless atmosphere and the magic setting of the Ca Sagredo is sure to seduce you and your guests.
One of the most renowned 5* hotels on the island of Capri is also a wedding venue that we absolutely love. This amazing hotel has seduced emperors, sheiks, painters and poets for years. The hotel is inspired by the simple elegance of classical Mediterranean architecture where columns, arches and vaulted ceilings are in perfect harmony with masterpieces of modern art. From the rooftop of this hotel where outdoor weddings can be performed, you admire a panorama of unique natural beauty, framed by the nearby islands of Ischia and Procida and the dramatic bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Service, food and atmosphere in the Olivo restaurant are first class. We recommend this hotel to small and medium sized groups looking for a really exclusive atmosphere.
The majestic, well-preserved medieval Odescalchi is located on the southern shore of Lake Bracciano, approximately one hour from Rome. We recommend this beautiful castle to large groups of minimum 50 guests, and it is able to host very large groups of 500 guests or more. The secret garden, the courts and the different halls and areas of the castle allow a customised set up of any event to create the right atmosphere. Castle management also allow small symbolic ceremonies to be held inside. A couple wishing to exchange their vows in this intimate and glorious castle can have a breathtaking ceremony and photos in any part of the castle they choose. The Castle Odescalchi is one of the largest and best-maintained castles in Italy, and has hosted very high profile weddings.
A treasure of Medieval architecture, the amazing Castle of Vincigliata is located in Fiesole, North of Florence and is just a couple of minutes outside the city. The Castle Vincigliata is recommended to groups of minimum 50 guests. The castle was built on the hills surrounding Florence in a very secluded spot and exclusive use and intimacy is guaranteed to couples who choose to have their wedding here, a wedding that will have an air of sophisticated elegance in this historical ambience. From the castle you can enjoy the most enchanting views of the stunning surrounding gardens. The gardens and courtyards are also ideal for outdoor ceremonies and banquets. Religious ceremonies can be held at churches nearby.

If you are looking to throw a stylish wedding banquet that starts with guests enjoying amazing views of the sea, and finishes with the whole party dancing by a pool under a gleaming moon, the ideal place for you is the luxurious Hotel Caruso. The Hotel Caruso is a member of the prestigious Orient-Express group and is located in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. Outdoor ceremonies take place among romantic olive trees on a beautiful terraced garden. The aperitif follows in the garden and a short walk takes the group to the dinner area, again outdoors in a splendid scenic setting. The event ends by the pool area while guests enjoy a sophisticated atmosphere enriched by a lounge setting with sofas, white tents, lanterns and floating candles.

This Relais is a charming 4* hotel surrounded by the deep blue crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea, not far from Sorrento. The Relais Blu is a luxury villa with 11 bedrooms, all of which have a sea view and all of which have to be booked for groups to have exclusive use of the villa. It is also possible to reserve a secluded area for an outdoor ceremony, a terrace for the banquet and the pool side for music afterwards. From the terraces of this villa you can enjoy one of the most amazing day and night views of Capri, the Sorrento coast and Naples Bay. We recommend this villa to those looking for a contemporary atmosphere and international cuisine.
The most famous villa in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast, the Villa Cimbrone is on our list of favourite venues for many reasons: for its unique setting, its Mediterranean gardens and terraces offering the most breathtaking views of the coastline, and for its perfect combination of relaxation and full exclusivity. At the prestigious Villa Cimbrone it is possible to organise romantic outdoor ceremonies. The villa welcomes small and large groups and every event is customised thanks to the different settings the villa and its huge park have to offer. The villa has a total of 19 rooms that can be hired for exclusive use to accommodate your guests.

The beautiful and private Palladian Villa, located only two hours drive from Venice, is a place no couple could resist. The villa is surrounded by a beautiful park with horses and a secluded garden and pool – what better place to make your new home for the few days of your wedding celebration! While the villa is not a hotel, it has 12 rooms for the bride, groom and family or friends. It offers different settings for banquets, customised according to bride and groom’s wishes. Pool side, or on the lawn in front of the villa, in the rustic Barchessa with its two open halls, or the cellars of the villa with the ballroom inside, couples have many settings at their disposal for their ceremony and banquet. A nearby church is within walking distance.
Villa del Balbianello

Villa del Balbianello, located on top of a small peninsula on the Western shore of the South-West branch of Lake Como, is the most exclusive villa in the area. The best way to get to the villa is by boat from the nearby town of Lenno, or from other small villages such as Bellagio, Varenna or Como. The elaborate terraced gardens are a combination of Italian and English style, where a path leads from the lake through grassy slopes up to the highest part of the villa. Marquees can be set up on the lawn for dinner and dancing after a beautiful ceremony in the gardens. Rental fees vary according to type of event and number of guests.
Villa La Vedetta

Set in a beautiful panoramic position overlooking the city of Florence, not far from the heart of the city, Villa La Vedetta is an exclusive and romantic Neo-Renaissance villa. Have your ceremony on the surrounding terrace, some pre-dinner cocktails in the garden, and your wedding breakfast under the gazebo located on the side of the main terrace. We recommend the small terrace on top of the villa and the gardens to couples planning a smaller, more intimate wedding, or for larger parties we suggest a reception under the gazebo on the large terrace. We love this villa for its unique atmosphere and views at night, as well as the exceptional service and gourmet cuisine it provides.
