This weekend, Earl’s Court, London, played host to the 2014 Autumn National Wedding Show. Bridal designers presented the latest and greatest bridal couture and show attendees saw firsthand 2015 bridal catwalk trends. Jenny Packham, Ivory and Co. and Zaeem Jamal will keep brides fresh and at the height of couture with their figure flattering gowns. Ardyss International revealed intimate bridal lingerie whilst Debenhams wowed with stunning bridesmaids gowns. Moss Bros. and Youngs Hire delivered beautifully tailored suits for Mr Right while Katherine Hooker and Nigel Rayment promised contemporary mother of the bride ensembles.
Bridal Trend Alert: Boho Chic
The catwalk shows at The National Wedding Show are prime opportunities for designers to reveal their latest trends and for brides to receive firsthand knowledge of bridal fashion. For 2015, we are seeing a variety of emerging trends as well as some nods to the past with a revival of certain styles.
At the forefront of bridal couture for 2015 is the boho chic look. Bridal gowns as well as bridesmaids dresses and mother of the bride outfits embraced this trend, reflected in tiered dresses and relaxed silhouettes. We’ve also seen a rise in boho chic themed accessories with floral headbands and whimsical signage on display.

Bridal Trend Alert: Detailed Dress Backs
Ornate and detailed dress backs is another emerging trend that we love. Designers showcased a number of gowns with plunging backlines or keyhole backs. Most often these types of gowns have jewels and beadwork that gently cascade down the length of the gown as evidenced by the showstopping Jenny Packham gown above.
Bridal Trend Alert: Plain & Simple Couture
If you prefer a more demure look, our next emerging trend will be suited to you. We’ve noticed a lot of plainer, simpler gowns appearing for the entire bridal party. Brides and their maids who prefer less pomp will be swept away by the gorgeous flowing gowns above, most of which have minimal or no ornate detailing. We also noticed this trend influencing suits for Mr Right with many tailors opting for cleaner, crisp lines and suits without too much fuss.
Bridal Trend Alert: Adaptability & Versatility
Designers listened to bride’s requests to make their dress their own and responded by offering gowns and lingerie that are suited to adaptability and versatility. We especially loved Ardyss International’s bridal lingerie with an elegant gossamer knee-length veil.
Bridal Trend Alert: Art Deco Bridal Accessories
Silk & Satin and Ivory & Co made bold statements on the catwalk with art deco inspired bridal accessories. Amongst our favourites were the feathered shrugs and statement headpieces. Art deco bridal accessories would suit both brides after an art deco theme as well as those seeking to incorporate nature into W Day in the form of a woodland themed wedding.
