Accessories for a Gorgeous Groom
When planning a wedding, it’s easy to run away with centrepieces and candy carts, but the fact of the matter is that the main focal point of the day are the bride and groom themselves. There is plenty of advice and inspiration when it comes to bridal attire, but what about the groom? Well, today we’re all about just that, as we snap a spotlight on men’s accessories and show the guys how to become a gorgeous groom…
Ties & bow ties

Whether you’re a tie or bow tie man, give your outfit a bit more style with something different to your everyday attire. A striped or colourful bow tie will be the perfect finishing touch if your other half has chosen a tea length, tulle or colourful dress (just ask her!) and will add a playfulness to photos at an informal wedding. For a semi-formal wedding, try a skinny tie in a shade similar to some of the bridal accessories – if your bride is wearing blue, red or green shoes, try to match your tie to that, or if the bridesmaids have an accented colour on their dresses (anything beside the main colour of the dress!) then dress to pick up that shade.
Cufflinks

Cufflinks are the best way to add some personality into your groomswear, especially if you’re not so into fashion. They are an easy way to add something kitsch, funny or sweet to your look in a very subtle way. Cufflinks in your team colours for the footballers, a treble clef or drumsticks for the musicians, or a cute ‘I do’ for the sentimental types will not only look great and make you smile, but will also be a great keepsake.
Groom socks!

Socks are a great way to add some humour to your wedding style as they are easily hidden during the ceremony! Team up with your groomsmen to spell out your bride’s name, or just wear something completely off the wall to tie your friends together. Or you could give your best man and your dad a present the morning of – their very own titled socks from the Confetti shop!
Final touches

Your buttonhole is an accessory you could play with if you don’t wan to go for the standard flower. A little badge or pin that holds some sentiment can be added here (LEGO Darth Vader and Stormtroopers anyone?).
Tip for the brides!
A nice surprise for your hubby would be to sew a little hand-sewn note to the back of his tie such as the photo above. You could sew on an in-joke or word that only you two understand, or just your initials and date. This will make a lovely keepsake for years to come.
