The Lockdown Collection: See Jenny Packham’s SS21 Campaign Here
It’s been a bleak time in the world of weddings lately, that’s for sure, but even in the darkest of times, there’s always a glimmer of light.
For us, that glimmer of light comes in the form of Jenny Packham’s SS21 campaign – the Lockdown Collection.
Whilst some of us used lockdown to perfect our baking skills and smash as many Zoom quizzes as possible, Jenny Packham used her time wisely to design this stunning new collection, which includes gorgeous options for the bride looking for an alternative wedding dress, as well as seriously stylish options for the mother of the bride, bridesmaids and guests who want to steal the show.
Jenny had the following to say about her creative process and inspiration: “Harsh realities often give creatives new powers to find imaginative means of escape. Combine this desire with the mother of all clear outs and the discovery of 20 years of hidden sparkle, beaded designs, trims and yet to be unrolled fabrics and you have a collection made from regenerated ideas created with a fresh outlook, spun together with hope and optimism.
“Redesigned four times, each new take on the collection produced a more lively and colourful aesthetic with flowing volume, daring backs and puffs of tulle formed into styles to illuminate and seduce.
“It’s true- grand special occasions are distant day dreams and certainty in this new era as flimsy as the chiffons we have draped but a sense of glamour and a bit of humour now seem more essential than ever.”
Bridal Picks from the Jenny Packham SS21 Collection
Moira
The Moira is our absolute favourite bridal look from Jenny Packham’s latest collection. The fabric is studded with hundreds of tiny little sparkles, guaranteed to glitter in the light and make the wearer even more radiant.
Gold Dust
White wedding dresses aren’t for everyone, and if you want some vintage glamour with your bridal gown, consider the golden-hued Gold Dust gown. On-trend tiered and scatters of sparkles make this a dreamy choice for brides who want to break the mould.
Romantica
If you want a sleek, grown up choice for your wedding dress, Jenny Packham has created the Romantica, which exudes 1970s glamour. Pair with a simple wedding hairstyle to let your dress do the talking. This dress is ideal if you’re looking for a more mature wedding dress option.
Pretty Lady
It’s been a hard year for everyone, but the Pretty Lady dress can’t help but lift your spirits. Weddings aren’t as we know them anymore, so break the rules, make your own new normal and opt for this breath-takingly beautiful pink wedding dress, adorned with the dreamiest floral details. We want it so badly it hurts.
Bridesmaid Options from the Jenny Packham SS21 Collection
La La
Give your bridesmaids the gift of timeless fashion with the frothy, berry-hued La La dress. It’s the perfect pick for a bridesmaid who wants to look like a fashionable adult, not a trussed up teenager.
Estrella
This sunny yellow gown is the perfect antidote to all the doom and gloom of 2020 – and the flattering empire line makes it a great choice if you have bridesmaids of different shapes and sizes, or a pregnant bridesmaid in your mix.
Waltz
Ideal for a winter wedding, the Waltz gown has a rich berry colour perfectly suited to the colder months, and the open back and sequins keep it ultra-feminine and add a touch of sex appeal.
Silk Road
If you want your bridal party to have a more laidback, luxe feel, consider the sensual Silk Road dress. The gentle pleating, low V-neckline and slashed sleeves add understated elegance and will make this a pick they’ll want to wear again and again.
Flamingo Girl
Still obsessed with Gossip Girl and Sex and the City? The Flamingo Girl is like both shows’ wardrobe departments had a love child. We could easily see Blair Waldorf or Carrie Bradshaw sporting this seriously fashionable choice – making it a no-brainer for any millennial bridesmaid.
Mother of the Bride Options from the Jenny Packham SS21 Collection
Camelot
Add some extra glamour to your wedding day ensemble with the Camelot – the silvery sequins and fabulous feather detail are enough to negate the need for a hat, making it a great choice for MOTBs who want a young-at-heart look.
Melody
The Melody dress is a chic option for the mother of the bride (or groom!) who wants a traditional MOTB look but still wants a fashionable feel. The cape style shoulder detail is ideal for concealing the upper arms, if that’s an area you’re not confident having on display.
Orange Queen
More fabulous 70s glamour from Jenny Packham! This dress suits a super glamorous MOTB at a summer or beachside wedding – and can easily be repurposed for holidays and garden gatherings time and time again.
Guest Looks from Jenny Packham’s SS21 Collection
Polka Dot
There hasn’t been much to get dressed up for this year, so we fully endorse going all out with your wedding guest look. The Polka Dot dress from Jenny’s Lockdown Collection is the dream look we’ve been waiting for. The monochrome detail means you can wear it to a wedding without the fear of looking too bridal.
Night Rider
They say you shouldn’t wear black to a wedding but…we think anything goes now! This sleek black jumpsuit complete with gold detailing is perfect for an evening celebration or a winter wedding. Ob. SESSED.
Sugar Sweet
Be still, our beating hearts. The Sugar Sweet dress from Jenny Packham was made for outdoor summer celebrations (and fingers crossed 2021 will bring plenty of those!). There is nothing sickly about the Sugar Sweet gown.
No matter what your bridal look is, we guarantee you’ll love looking at these blue wedding shoes!
