Hen Party Ideas for Bridesmaids under 18 Years Old
With no rules on who can be your bridesmaid, we have seen an increase in brides asking their younger sisters and daughters to do the honours. In most cases this means you now have someone in your hen party that is under the age of 18. Although their role on your wedding day won’t be any different to the other maids, your hen party will definitely require you to think of a few ideas that are suitable for all ages. Today, we share some of our favourite hen party ideas for bridesmaids under 18 years old.
Afternoon Tea
Afternoon tea is still one of the most popular hen party activities. You can pick from a wide range of venues that offer this service including hotels and tea rooms, so finding one near you isn’t going to be too difficult. If you’re worried it won’t suit the older maids, there is always a choice of cocktails, it’s not just about tea. While your younger maids enjoy the high tea experience, the rest of you can enjoy a glass of champagne or cocktail with your scone.
Go Karting
If surrounding yourself with floral teacups and dainty cupcakes isn’t your idea of fun, take your hen party for a spin and try go karting. Not only is go karting exciting and suitable for most ages, but it’s also a great way to get your hens working together. Spilt them in to teams and let the race begin, a little bit of competition is never a bad thing.
Chocolate Making
No one is too young or too old for chocolate. Take the afternoon off and spend a few hours creating the perfect chocolate. Trust us, even your older bridesmaids will love this, for the crafty bunch its a time to show what they can create and for those just out for a good time the afternoon playing with chocolate is our idea of fun. At the end of the day your girls would have had a great time bonding and will have a little sweet treat to take home.
Perfume Making
If you want something truly unique for all your bridesmaids, you may want to consider perfume making. Not only is it something everyone can get involved with, it’s also a chance to give your maids a little keepsake they will cherish, and a gift that will remind them of the day spent with you and the others.
Take them Dancing
Whatever your taste, whether you want to learn a routine from Dirty Dancing or learn to do the tango from Strictly; a dance class with your favourite girls is the best way to get all your maids laughing and bonding. There’s no harm in working on your dance moves before the big day.
Horse Riding
If you know your bridesmaids love animals then take your party horse riding. With many horse riding schools creating packages to suit everyone’s needs and experience you’re sure to have an exciting day thats tailored made for your group. Saddle up and enjoy the ride.
The Theatre
You can still take your younger bridesmaid out at night; you don’t have to exclude them completely. And the best way to do this it to hit the West End or your local theatre. There’s no better way to kick start the evening than with a musical you can all sing along too, like Mama Mia, Hairspray or Lion King. A great sing along is the perfect start to your night, and on the big day remember to include one of the songs from the show to remind your hens of a great night out.
These are just some of our favourite hen party ideas, if you have younger bridesmaids we’d love to hear what you have planned.
