Naming by Numerology
A device such as numerology can help enhance the naming process. It can be used as an additional tool that enables you to harmonise the name in context with the moment of birth and adds another layer of meaning to the name you choose…
The use of numerological methods, as a key to unlock the hidden meaning of names, dates back to long before recorded history. The ancient Sumerians, Hindus, Egyptians, Hebrews and Greeks, all used it as a means of divination. They believed that numbers were significant to understanding the underlying principles of the universe, including the spiritual path to God and to reveal a person’s destined path.
In the West, it was the Greek philosopher and mathematician, Pythagoras, who initiated the idea that numbers were linked to a person’s destiny. Applying them to the date of birth and to the person’s name, he believed would uncover secrets that would guide the person on the journey of life.
Personal destiny through numbers
Some parents just take the first name into account while looking at its numerological meaning, while others prefer to take the whole name, including first, middle and last names, in order to get a comprehensive reading. In addition, the birth number can also be taken into account; the birth and name numbers are compared to see if they blend well together.
Birth number
The date of birth is added and then reduced to a single number, which reflects the path of destiny that we are born with. The name number, which can be chosen unlike the birth number, can be used to either enhance or balance the qualities desired for the person.
How to calculate the birth number
Example:
18 July 1950 or 18.07.1950 (Richard Branson’s date of birth)
1+8+0+7+1+9+5+0 = 31
3+1 = 4
