Valentine’s Day on February 14th is a day to share with the person or people you love, whether your partner, best friends or family. Forget about overpriced flowers and try something that’s different, and your idea of giving.
Organise a Date Night with Friends
Instead of booking a table for two, stay at home and invite your close friends, whether they are single or in a relationship, the more the merrier. Ask them to bring a little something to the party, food, drink, or games, anything to make the evening a blast. With many of us spending time with our families during the holiday periods, make Valentine’s Day the holiday you share with your closest and dearest friends.
Explore your City
With thousands of people heading out to popular restaurants on Valentine’s Day, you should instead become a tourist. Explore the town or city you live in and discover the hidden gems it has to offer. Plan a route through the streets passing places you’ve always wanted to see, museums, galleries, whatever you want.
Give Back by Volunteering
You might want to consider taking the time to show those in need your support and love. You and your spouse should volunteer at the local soup kitchen or for animal lovers take a day our two helping at the animal shelter. With endless ways to volunteer you’re sure to find the perfect way to make a difference.

See a Live Band
They say ‘music is the food of love’, and what better way to spend Valentine’s Day then listening to live music. This year be adventurous and see a band you’ve never heard of. You never know it could be the best thing you discover all year, or maybe the funniest quite by accident!
Watch A Boxset
With our hectic lifestyles it can sometimes be difficult to watch your favourite TV shows as and when it’s on. The beauty of the boxset is you can watch them all back to back when you want to. So this Valentine’s Day you should have a boxset binge. Escape the overcrowded cinemas and snuggle up on the sofa, with your favourite snacks, a takeaway and indulge in hours of your favourite TV show with your other half. With subscriptions to Netfilx and Amazon at your fingertips you’re sure to find something you both want to watch.
Go to a Class
Be brave this Valentine’s Day by booking a class and learning something new. Whether its learn a new language, bake, DIY, pottery or cook, whatever you choose, you never know – it could be the start of a wonderful new hobby.
Valentine’s Day is your day, spend the entire day doing what you want and with whoever you want. It’s the perfect day to show everyone you love in your life just how much they mean to you. Happy Valentine’s Day.
